About Us

We have lived the pain of instability and the power of a single encouraging voice. We stand as that voice for every woman who arrives at our door, reminding her that her future is larger than her past.

The founder

Our Founder’s Story

To begin, I grew up in the south suburban area of Chicago. I was in DCFS my entire life and experienced sexual, physical, and mental abuse at the hands of my adoptive family. I was subsequently placed back into DCFS care due to concerns at the home and by the time I was 12 years old, I was not emotionally stable. I transitioned from foster home to residential facility until I turned 18. Upon becoming pregnant with my son, which proved to be the most significant blessing I had ever received, my caseworker instilled in me a sense of hope that I would become somebody noteworthy, emphasizing that it would simply require time. I expressed my concerns to her about raising a child without assistance, but she reassured me that I would persevere. Initially, I felt unprepared, but I promptly began giving back to the community and sharing inspirational testimonies about my life to encourage others to improve their own circumstances. I entered into a relationship and unfortunately experienced physical, mental, and verbal abuse. My partner attempted to sell me to someone in Florida, which left me terrified. One day, I mustered the courage to fight back and escape. After finally breaking free from him and regaining stability, I resolved to improve my life. I joined a car club a non-profit organization, which inspired me to engage in various philanthropic endeavors, such as donating to different organizations and connecting with like-minded individuals. These experiences ultimately led me to my current position, where I inspire young women to recognize that there is hope for a better future, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and believing in oneself. It is never too late to make a positive change.
