The founder
Our Founder’s Story
To begin, I grew up in the south suburban area of Chicago. I was in DCFS my entire life and experienced sexual, physical, and mental abuse at the hands of my adoptive family. I was subsequently placed back into DCFS care due to concerns at the home and by the time I was 12 years old, I was not emotionally stable. I transitioned from foster home to residential facility until I turned 18. Upon becoming pregnant with my son, which proved to be the most significant blessing I had ever received, my caseworker instilled in me a sense of hope that I would become somebody noteworthy, emphasizing that it would simply require time….
